Background:
NABARD is one of the partners of GIZ India, engaged on agroecological orientation of NABARD’s NRM portfolio under the Indo-German Bilateral Technical Cooperation Project named SuATI/NAB-SuATI. SuATI has been supporting JIVA-an agroecology programme of NABARD. JIVA operates across 43 watershed and tribal development projects, across 20 states. It focuses on farmer led extension and capacity building, crop diversification, soil regeneration, nutrition sensitive agriculture, integration of animal husbandry, value addition and marketing. Field observations, along with requests from project facilitating agencies, have highlighted the need for technical support, capacity building, and guidance in project design and various thematic areas to ensure effective implementation of JIVA projects. In this context, GIZ intends to hire a technical agency with strong experience in agroecological farming systems to build capacities and provide support services to both new and existing project facilitating agencies, as well as NABARD regional offices.

Tasks of the assignment:
i. Technical/mentoring support to JIVA projects
ii. Capacity development of JIVA partners on different agroecological themes
iii. Facilitate conduction of workshops
iv. Develop scaleup strategy and onboarding of new JIVA projects
v. Mid term evaluation of JIVA programme
vi. Development of knowledge material
