Tenders Are Invited for Toolbox for Determining Hydroclimatic Parameters for Infrastructure Design Under Climate Change and Enso Scenarios
The objective of this consultancy is to develop a technical Toolbox for the determination of hydroclimatic parameters applicable to the design of multisectoral infrastructure that explicitly and methodologically incorporates climate change scenarios and climate variability associated with the El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) phenomenon, providing a technical, methodological and practical framework to strengthen the planning and design processes of resilient infrastructure in the binational Puyango-Tumbes basin.
The Toolbox will have as its central emphasis the translation of hydroclimatic information - historical climate variability, ENSO and climate change scenarios - into operational parameters directly usable in engineering processes, such as extreme precipitation, flood and low flows, design horizons and selection criteria for hydraulic safety levels, ensuring that these parameters are technically defensible and consistent with the binational context of the basin.
Likewise, the Toolbox seeks to progressively contribute to the harmonization of design criteria in binational basins, particularly in the Ecuador-Peru border region, facilitating coordinated decision-making and promoting more consistent approaches to hydroclimatic risk management at the basin scale
Funding: CAF will provide the financial resources for contracting the consultancy using Technical Cooperation resources managed through the Multilateral Cooperation Centre for Development Financing (MCDF), within the framework of the initiative “Assistance for Capacity Development in the Puyango-Tumbes Transboundary Basin”
Reference budget : USD 270,000.
