Tenders Are Invited for Final Studies and Designs of the Guayubín River Irrigation Systems Reconstruction and Expansion Project.
improving the quality of CAF's agenda projects for the water sector by financing all the pre-investment actions and activities required for the initiatives, programs, and projects prioritized by CAF member countries to fully complete their preparation and study phases under quality standards, thus enabling them to begin their investment and implementation phases.
2. At the request of the Government of the Dominican Republic, the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) will finance the study "Final Designs for the Project for the Reconstruction and Expansion of Irrigation Systems of the Guayubín River, Dominican Republic."
3. CAF will provide the financial resources for contracting the consultancy through the Water Sector Pre-Investment Program (CAF-PPSA), up to the limits established in the reference budget mentioned in the following paragraphs. 4. The contracting of consulting services will be fully financed with resources from the CAF's non-reimbursable Technical Cooperation, approved as stated in Executive Resolution No. 1395/2024 of July 15, 2024, within the framework of the CAF Pre-Investment Program for the Water Sector (CAF-PPSA) approved by Board Resolution No. 2373/2021. Therefore, the contracting procedure will be carried out in accordance with said resolutions and the CAF Management Policies, Technical Cooperation Fund Regulations, and Procurement and Contracting Manual. 5. The overall objective of the consulting services is to prepare the pre-investment study at the final design level. This study aims to optimize the irrigation and drainage systems of the Guayubín River dam through its reconstruction, expansion, and improvement, as well as to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Fernando Valerio Irrigation Board and the Lower Yaque del Norte Regional Irrigation Directorate of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INDRHI), in order to guarantee the efficient, optimized, and sustainable use of water resources and improve agricultural productivity. The service will include all necessary tasks, including developing an implementation schedule and securing the physical and financial resources required to complete these tasks.
6. In addition to CAF's technical teams, the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources of the Dominican Republic will serve as the technical counterpart for this consultancy.
