Tenders Are Invited For Recruitment of a local NGO to support the operationalization of a sustainable mechanism for the production, fortification, and access to institutional markets for fortified maize flour and iodized salt.
Context
In order to contribute to the increase in quality and quantity of locally produced fortified foods and to create an environment conducive to the production and regulatory monitoring of fortified products, GAIN has planned, on the one hand, the strengthening of the capacities of local producers and, on the other hand, the strengthening of the capacities of laboratories and control agencies including the provision of rapid test kits.
The Large-Scale Food Fortification (LSFF) project is implemented in accordance with national nutrition and food safety policies, with regulatory oversight ensured by the Benin Food Safety Agency (ABSSA) at the production, import, and market levels. Thanks to financial support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, GAIN has been implementing the LSFF project since 2022 in close collaboration with the Ministries of Agriculture, Industry and Trade, and Health, regulatory agencies (ABSSA, DDAEP), laboratories, the National Food and Nutrition Agency (ANAN), universities, development partners (including WFP, UNDP, and CRS), and private sector food producers.
