Request for Proposal: To Support Community Management of Protected Areas for Conservation (COMPACT) programme in Okavango Delta UNESCO World Heritage property in Botswana.
The Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (GEF/SGP) invites Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), Academic and Research Institutions to submit innovative project proposals that address environmental conservation and sustainable livelihoods in the Okavango Delta UNESCO World Heritage property. The proposed projects are planned to support the Community Management of Protected Areas for Conservation (COMPACT) programme, the revised Okavango Delta Management Plan (ODMP) and to be implemented within Operational Phase 7 landscape to support local communities within the Okavango Delta UNESCO World Heritage property in Botswana. The COMPACT programme is a partnership initiative between the GEF/SGP and UNESCO to strengthen the engagement of local communities and indigenous peoples in the management of UNESCO World Heritage properties.
