The plan also integrates better access to public amenities, including enhanced walkways and beautified areas, key developments aimed to support the broader goal of boosting Dominica’s Tourism Industry while maintaining Roseau’s historic charm. This phase of the Roseau Enhancement Project focuses on upgrading seven essential streets in the centre of the capital, being Independence Street, Bath Road, Cork Street, Great George Street, Virgin Lane, River Street, and King George V Street. This is part of a larger strategy to make the city more pedestrian-friendly, improving sidewalks and creating better access to commercial and tourist sites. The Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica has received financing from the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) toward the Rehabilitation of Seven Major Streets in Roseau, Commonwealth of Dominica and it intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Consultancy Services for the Design Review and Supervision of the project. The objective of the assignment is to carry out thorough review of all technical documents including designs and Bills of Quantity to ensure procurement of civil work contractor, supervision and monitoring of physical progress, quality and the financial status of the construction works with the objective to ensure that the works are completed on time, meet the engineering specifications, social, and environmental standards.
