The assignment is for an Environmental Safeguards and Social Risks Specialistunder the project titled "Integrated Watershed Management for Improved Agro-Pastoral Livelihoods in the Sebapala Sub-Catchment"in Quthing District, Lesotho. The project is implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry with support from the Government of Lesotho, GEF, and UNDP.
The specialist will ensure that the project adheres to UNDP’s Social and Environmental Standards (SES), aiming to:
Strengthen programming quality
Maximize social and environmental benefits
Avoid or mitigate adverse impacts
Enhance stakeholder engagement and grievance mechanisms
