Expression of Interest: Second tashkent province water supply development project
the Environmental Safeguard Specialist with Suitable Work Experience and Qualifications in the Environment Safeguards Will Be Responsible for Provision of the Compliance of Project Activities to Environmental Safeguards Policies of the Adb and Republic of Uzbekistan. the Specific Duties of the Environment Safeguard Specialist Include, But Not Limited in the Following: (i) Responsible for Environmental Reporting - Quarterly, Semi-annual and Project Completion Reports as Well as for Monthly Compliance Monitoring Checklist and Project Completion Checklist to Be Used By Contractors and Consultants; (ii) Support Pcu Environmental Specialist in Preparation of Quarterly, Semi-annual Environmental Monitoring Reports, Project Completion Environmental Audit Reports and Final Environmental Monitoring Reports, as Well as Using Monitoring Checklists and Issuance of Corrective Action Plans (or Non- Compliance Notes); (iii) Assist the Pcu in Coordination of All Matters Related to the Environment & Safety Activities Under the Project; (iv) Assist Piu/ia in Liaising with National Authorities for Environmental Approvals and Permits and Ensure That All Projects Are in Compliance with National Legislation and Adb Requirements; (v) Review the Environmental Management and Monitoring Plans and Ensure That the Bidding Documents and Construction Contracts Accurately Reflect the Emp; (vi) Carry Out Jointly with Pmc,pcu and Adb Site Visits, Field Inspections, Active Public Consultations and Attend Site Meetings as Necessary to Facilitate the Successful Compliance of the Environmental & Safety Requirements; (vii) Provide In-house Trainings/instructions to Pcu Staff and as Well as to the Contractors’ Staff Related Environment Safeguard, Health and Safety Issues; (viii) Assist the Pcu in Preparation of the Preconstruction and Construction Period Training Workshops as Defined in the Iee’s Emp; Consult with Target Audience and Prepare a Set of Training Modules, Based on the Needs Defined; (ix) Provide Technical Support to Pcu and Pmc in Preparation Or Update of the Iees Or Any Safeguard Due Diligence Report If Required; (x) Provide Guidance to Contractors in Preparation of Site-specific Emps and Other Subplans; (xi) Establish and Monitor the Operation of Grm and Compliance the Adb Accountability Mechanism Policy; (xii) Any Other Duties Instructed By Pcu Director.
