As part of the implementation of the National Development Strategy 2020–2030 (SND30), the Government of Cameroon has made digital transformation a key driver for modernizing public services, strengthening institutional performance, and improving citizens' access to basic services. The postal sector, a vital player in economic and territorial inclusion, must now adapt to the rapid evolution of technologies, the digitalization of practices, and new user expectations regarding speed, traceability, and digital services.
The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MINPOSTEL), in partnership with Cameroon Postal Services (CAMPOST), has embarked on a major modernization project of the postal network, aiming to transform post offices into modern, interactive, efficient, and attractive multi-service spaces. This initiative reflects a commitment to improving the quality of public postal services, increasing operational efficiency, and strengthening CAMPOST's competitiveness within an increasingly digital ecosystem.
The project concept note highlights the importance of gradually transforming traditional post offices into connected and intelligent post offices, integrating innovative solutions such as:
• automated and interactive digital services;
• Intelligent queue and user flow management tools;
• IoT devices for security, maintenance and logistics;
• digital financial services and modern payment solutions;
• Advanced mechanisms for real-time traceability and optimization of operations.
