Tenders are invited for Kiesbergtunnel - ipa - info market communication
With the construction project "Wuppertal Kiesbergtunnel, replacement new construction", a central infrastructure project is being realized on the state road L 70, which includes both the comprehensive renovation of the Kiesbergtunnel and the replacement new construction of the dilapidated overpass structure over Viehhofstraße. The L70 connects the Wuppertal-Sonnborn motorway interchange (A 46) with the Wuppertal South City. A core component of the project is the comprehensive renovation of the Kiesbergtunnel, which was opened in 1970. The tunnel has the special feature of a double-deck construction, where the two-lane directional lanes do not run side by side, but predominantly one above the other. In the direction of travel from the Wuppertal-Sonnborn motorway interchange (A 46) towards Wuppertal South City, traffic is directed through the lower tube, which has a total length of about 1,043 m (mining construction method and open construction of the so-called "frame structures east and west"). The upper tube in the opposite direction from Wuppertal South City to the Wuppertal-Sonnborn motorway interchange (A 46) has a length of about 855 m and consists entirely of a section of tunnel produced by mining. As part of the tunnel renovation under full closure, it is also planned to replace the dilapidated overpass structure of L 70 over Viehhofstraße with a replacement new construction. To prepare the procurement procedures, the client wishes to enter into a structured exchange with interested market participants. This is intended to facilitate resource planning for interested market participants and help to take existing market structures and interests into account as best as possible. Initially, an online event is to take place on March 6, 2026 (Friday) at 12:00 PM, lasting one hour, to provide the market with initial information about this project (so-called "market monologue"). In a second step, a presence event is to take place on March 19, 2026 (Thursday) from 5:00 PM in Wuppertal to engage in closer exchange and gather feedback from the market on the planned design of the project, according to the approach of "integrated project management" (IPA). Interested market participants are requested to express their interest in the market monologue by sending an email to the following project email address kiesbergtunnel@strassen.nrw.de by no later than Thursday, March 5, 2026. Subsequently, the dial-in data for the online information event on March 6, 2026, will be sent to this email address. Further information about the market dialogue on March 19, 2026, will follow shortly.
