Expression of interest for Recruitment of An Environmental, Social and Climate Safeguards Expert for the Parfebalt Coordination Unit
. The services to be provided under this contract include, inter alia:
• Ensure environmental, social, and climate monitoring of the project in collaboration with the
authorities responsible for environmental affairs;
• Suggest preventive or mitigation measures to lessen the negative impacts of the project on
the environment and on communities;
• Raise awareness and organise training for project staff on environmental and social impacts,
including technicians, facilitators, contractors, and consulting firms, as well as for local
committees, to promote sustainable environmental practices within the project areas;
• Monitor and assess the implementation of studies;
• Prepare and follow up on quarterly environmental and social implementation reports
according to the project’s environmental tools, and regularly organise discussions and
meetings with the Project Management Unit (PMU) and experts from the African Development
Bank (AfDB);
• Prepare and oversee carbon sequestration reports for the project;
• Review and contribute to the validation of specific environmental and social safeguard
instruments (P3P, specific ESMPs, C-ESMPs, and Abbreviated Plans for Loss of Use of Affected
Persons, etc.);
• Ensure the implementation and monitoring of the specific plans (P3P, specific ESMPs, CESMPs, Abbreviated Plans for Loss of Use of Affected Persons, etc.);
• Ensure adherence to the environmental safeguard frameworks of development partners,
especially the African Development Bank (AfDB), during project implementation;
the Services to Be Provided Under This Contract Include, Inter Alia:
ensure Environmental, Social, and Climate Monitoring of the Project in Collaboration with the Authorities Responsible for Environmental Affairs;
suggest Preventive Or Mitigation Measures to Lessen the Negative Impacts of the Project on the Environment and on Communities;
raise Awareness and Organise Training for Project Staff on Environmental and Social Impacts, Including Technicians, Facilitators, Contractors, and Consulting Firms, as Well as for Local Committees, to Promote Sustainable Environmental Practices Within the Project Areas;

ensure Adherence to the Environmental Safeguard Frameworks of Development Partners, Especially the African Development Bank (afdb), During Project Implementation;
ensure Compliance with Procedures in the Preparation of Resettlement Action Plans and in Public Consultations and Stakeholder Engagement;
assist in Preparing Quarterly Project Implementation Reports;
conduct Any Other Activities Related to the Project’s Environmental, Social, and Climate Aspects Safeguards.
